All nodes of the ATLAS Cluster share some common features.
Each node is a rack-mounted enclosure based either on AMD or Intel 64-bit platforms. It has two processors, each with four cores for a total of 8 cores per node. Physical memory is between 16 or 96 GB. Due to the large amount of physical memory installed in each node no swapping is currently defined for any node; it can be added in the future if needed.
Booting is done from an internal hard drive.
The name of each node is indicated on the enclosure by the corresponding greek letter on the right side of the front panel.
